Can you just do what your boss tells you to do and not over think it?
He didn’t ask me to do anything, it’s why I feel struggled that the senior forward me everything big boss asked him to do
Totally get how tricky that feels. I’d want to keep things smooth too. Maybe try a polite check-in with your manager like, “Just wanted to align on expectations before I dive in, do you see me taking the lead on this?” That way you’re clarifying without sounding confrontational.
I was thinking about this too, because at the end I want to make sure I am aligned with my direct manager. Thank you very much for your advice.
My only question is, is it okay to reconfirm this with him as he had previously said he expected the change being made by the other senior; and that he hasn’t clarified anything with me, since I mentioned to him a few times other senior has been forwarding me requests from big boss.
I would like to maintain a good relationship with the other senior, also my manager. But I am not experienced like the other senior, and I feel that as my clarifying questions get specific, both the senior and my manager might not like it.
Really appreciate if any advice.
