The last day at my current role is this Friday (laid off). I am interviewing tomorrow for another consulting role. How would you respond to why are you looking to leave your current role without seeming "desperate" so they don't lowball you on the offer?

So, I’m interviewing for a position that fits perfectly, HR likes my profile, had great conversations with them. Today I had a Panel interview with HR and the hiring manager. The manager is not experienced, it’s her first r manager role and she’s been in it for 3 months. I was prepared but was out of breath the entire interview, had a knot in my throat, had trouble finding my words. It’s like I had PTSD when this manager came into the picture. Ever had that?

What’s an appropriate salary/range for an Account Director in Toronto? It’s a small agency, so I know that will skew things a bit on the lower side. Initial research on LinkedIn & Glassdoor says $93-$95k average. Personally have 8 years’ experience.

I was given a promotion 6mos ago & told that the position was a lateral move & a raise would be given at my 6 month mark. Throughout my time at time at this company I’ve realized that they call people in to give their raise on the exact date of milestones (i.e: 6 mos, 1yr, & so on). It’s now been one week since my 6 months in this new position. I’d like to reach out to my boss and set up a meeting to review my work & discuss a raise. Should I wait a bit longer or should I set this up now?

Talked to an M1 in Deal Advisory (FDD/AAS) that makes $110K in HCOL. Does that seem low/high/in-line with what you would expect?

What are the dos and donts of obtaining a competitive offer to get a raise? What about timing? Is it tacky to do it right after promo season?

L1 expecting an L2 offer any day, next summer start. HCOL area and trying to figure out what is reasonable for income. Non-traditional student and new to public though I have work experience at the para and professional level. Previous salary before returning to school was 60k base overtime eligible as an internal accountant. My reviews are all exemplary and my prior experience has been directly noted as a benefit.
