Absolutely, I scaffold and make it accessible and it’s always at random if the student wants to buy in or not.
“Is the summative or formative?”
“Can i just work by myself?”
Ability levels of students are falling down. They get minimums and copy way too much. Their attention span is non existent. Learning environment has been corrupted.
Rarely I get a perfect class period.
If you aren't making mistakes, you aren't trying. This was a learning opportunity for teacher... Brush those noodles off and start again.
But on the days when it goes right, it is oh sooooo nice! Embrace those moments, and wipe off the not-so-good ones.
Well, that is the life of teaching. We team plan at my academy which is a huge blessing. I am working with 10 year old plans that are tried and true, so I get to dig deep to enhance and perfect them year after year.
I feel this... Sometimes the most wonderful lessons are the most organic, being able to flex with the students inquisitiveness is where I see the most magic!
Listen OP I do this all the time. I literally throw spaghetti at the wall and just hope for the best. I feel like I am just continuously winging it but after five yeras I have gotten pretty good at it.
