McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!

We hid select toys and will be pulling them out over the next few days to keep the distraction going (but we have 2 under 5 years old). 😂
Then, we just tested out a road trip (yesterday) and told them we were pretending to be a UPS delivery person and delivered gifts to family while wearing masks and just waving at them. ⛄️ 😷 It was crazy fun and we went the long route looking at new things. There is no other year that we would ever consider doing this - but we committed to doing it and it was awesome.
Your exhaustion is real - however, if you have it in you - make up something to do, create new memories & traditions. Distract yourself and get everyone laughing. If your kids are older - have them ‘curate the day’ and see what they come up with...🤷♀️
Hang in there and be nice to yourself.👍🏼
One thing I realized about my parenting filling-in-the-hours-of-the-day-projects is that they were good for the version of our family where I left our home (think mini painting projects, play doh hour, etc)...and where we could fill our weekends with activities (zoo, farm, conservatory, etc) to buffer those ‘hourlong projects’.
Now while in Covid, I started (before the holidays) what I call ‘marathon projects’ = projects that have multiple steps, require time, and take about a month to do.
Example: we built a garbage truck out of cardboard and broke out the steps of prototyping, building, testing (to look for improvements), refining (making it function better/look better), adding color with a paint day....both boys really got into it and were able to talk about what they contributed. Instead of mindlessly painting a seasonal object > we built a truck that worked where they could see their idea become real. Was it a fancy truck? Nope. But it was homemade and is one of the top 3 objects the boys share when a visitor comes over 😂.
Now I am on the lookout for more of these - even I got into it — and for them that was also really fun to get mom geeked out about something!

How old are the kids? If between 3 and 7 ish I highly recommend a toy called buildopolis. I’m not kidding. Hours and hours and hours of use over years and years and years.
Also, no joke, it helps so much to just have a schedule written out: breakfast! Make beds! Tv for 1 hour! Toys in den for 40 min! Lunch! Painting party! Make popcorn! Read books!
Somehow having a list and getting kids into the checking off of items is helpful and it’s helpful to keep parent (me at least) from sinking into the despair of having so, so, so many hours to fill.

Amazing. I would hop in a car and drive there from NY just to have some alone time. Thank you for the tip. Wanting to buy but pretty sure my partner would be bothered by spending, buying more 🤣
