It's advertising, even if the work week was changed to four 10-hour days, we'd all still be working seven 10-hour days.
Even with your on-paper summer Fridays, I’m sure someone is working that afternoon/evening because something came in late from the client or something needs to get out the door. Or a creative team got briefed at 3pm.
The problem with the four-day week is that the clients will ask for things on the fifth day. And staffing staggered shifts could be challenging. Also, a ten-hour shift creates obstacles for parents as far as pickup and drop off of young children.
My last company offered summer Fridays, which you could take if your work was done and no one on your team needed help. Fridays were usually a shit show, so no one took summer Fridays.

I doubt all of your clients are going to change to a 4 day workweek too, let alone the NYSE, world governments, etc. And if you’re busy, you’re probably working more than 10 hrs a day anyway.
No one with kids, that’s for sure.
💯 would rather do 10 hrs 4 days a week. Working about those hours anyway.
We have summer fridays (only half days) IF you billed 40 hours already. Not a perk.
