I can take adderall legally
Killing me guys, yall got nothing? Ok fine I’ll go first. I’ve posted these on several threads in the bowl:
1) pretending I’m an actor playing a Lawyer, with characteristics I made to fit the role. Let’s me lawyer as an assertive extrovert (despite being painfully shy and adverse to confrontation). Bonus- successes and losses are the character’s not mine. Makes it near impossible to “live for the wins” (which never works) and prevents almost all work stress from following me home.
2) instead of using the final deadline, I break a Task into chunks and calendar time to complete each part. Let’s me visually see my bandwidth (so I can adjust), forces me to reach out early (avoiding foreseeable delays), and keep things small enough to avoid shame spiral. “Complete this list and you get to home” works wonders for me.
3) running my day in cycles to boost momentum with small wins, avoid outlook distractions, inefficiency from task switching, and schedule types of work based on how difficult it is to do (dull work gets done at peak attention, fun work is scheduled for my lulls).
4) weekly email summary to my boss. Includes both FYI and approvals. Forces me to make progress to avoid looking lazy. Also a great way to get needed input and avoid paralysis from not knowing what to do next. (Bonus- it’s a great CYA).
5) building and tinkering with all these different systems (that I need to function!) makes it look like I’m working around the clock and helps me be more productive than my peers… despite working way less. I leverage that reputation into forcing lazy business partners to comply with my protocols, which cuts down on clerical work and boosts my output.
6) my adhd goblin brain loves puzzles and hates inefficient systems, and proposes better solutions (that let us work less). Makes it look like I go “above and beyond.”
Just shy of 15. Litigation and transactional. I’ve made many tweaks to my system over the years (as I’ve changed roles/scope etc), but the broad strokes (which I’ve noted above) have been in place for well over a decade.
