IBM has a lot of work from home options I hear..is it true..

like

I haven't heard any great stories about working for IBM. Uncle D and KPMG both have established GBS practices..

like

I've heard that too! But as usual... "it depends".

like

In heard the same about IBM..it's similar for most Managed Service service providers tho

like

I respect cap so much more than ibm. Why would you make this change? Aside from the random person here and there on this site, I've never heard anyone who worked there speak highly of it.

Everything in IBM needs w revolves around Watson and them gobbling unsuspecting start ups just to destroy their value. Consulting is just another business that they are destroying and they try to use it to sell all that outdated software they produce in other businesses. Their CEO pockets millions in bonuses while their consulting business gives 2% bonuses to their workforce. Just stay away from that mess.

like

OP if you were part oh Igate and was acquired by CapeGemini, joining IBM@make sense.. otherwise I would say No

Is it 1985? Then yes.

I received an offer from them and turned it down due to the fact that it's a campus hire position and I would have to start over. Additionally, they wouldn't tell me what sector I would be placed in until after I accepted the offer, which is a little scary imo

@D2 Seems to be describing Accenture Technology too. Sounds pretty much the same nowadays.

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?
