San Diego or Colorado
AA since you’re intrigued by Colo. Breckenridge is a cool town. Somewhere with lots of Airbnb options nearby but more affordable will be the towns of Frisco and Dillon. If you wanted to go somewhere more remote with a real old west feel, Telluride (fly into Montrose) or Steamboat (fly into Hayden) are super fun towns. But nonstop to Denver for the earlier places I mentioned will be more convenient and cheaper.
US Open - nyc
While that’s closer to LaGuardia, if you flew into JFK you could stay at the TWA hotel which looks amazing. Also, and more interesting if you want to hang out for a few days, stay in Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn - lovely neighborhood, with water taxi to Manhattan. Long Island City might be a good place to stay too for the same reasons, and not far from tennis venue.

I’m in the Midwest! I want to stay in the U.S. or Canada. Willing to spend up to $2k but hopefully not that much since I can go away for only 2-3 days 😅

I would LOVE that but due to work commitments don’t think I can swing that for the weekend!

I went to Kansas City maybe 15 years ago and loved it. The National World War One Museum was super cool and surprisingly one of the most memorable museums I’ve visited!

Montreal. Easy enough air access and different enough to feel like you're in a country more remote than Canada.
