I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.

In the current lateral market what is the usual time for hearing a decision after a final round of interviews? For context, final round went really well, it’s not even been a week yet, they thought I was a great fit etc, said they’re expanding and looking to hire someone ASAP. Just wanted to know what others’ experiences have been like.

I asked for a raise in April 2022 after three years with my company. Positive feedback since day one. Learned I was making less than peers at other asset managers in NYC with less experience (14 years). Latest conversation was with HR about how they calculate salaries. I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

I had a very positive experience interviewing with Amazon for an L5 Technical Writer role. I originally applied for a lower level writing role, ending up acing my Loop, and was passed on to speak to the hiring manager for the L5 role.

Given the positive tone of our conversation, I expect to receive an offer this week.
