Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Anyone have liposuction? Thoughts?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Gone the opposite way. Deloitte had better talent but the culture is much more cut throat.
Why did you leave, EY1? Just curious
Culture/people are way better at EY (and it’s not even close), comp is way better at Deloitte. Ultimately will depend on what your preference is. If you don’t care about the culture (which is totally fine) and want more money, then Deloitte is your choice.
Overall, not a bad change if you don’t like EY. Could be Siegfried… i mean worse, could be worse is what I meant
I really hate questions and post like this simply because all this hinges on specific country/practice/service line/project/partner you're with.
My team is pretty amazing but there's Deloitte groups that are a nightmare in my country, same thing applies for the other three firms.
The only thing uniform you're going to get out of on a National level are office spaces, benefits, policies, the portals we use to submit/manage stuff, focus on specific tech etc...

EY4 what line of service? That’s great miney
Deloitte is better on all aspects except the people. Very cliquey, cut throat, and competitive. But you find collaborative people who don’t have inflated egos here and there.
Deloitte was better in almost every single way but I am making significantly more money now. The back office support and technology are embarrassingly bad bere and the Firm is very poorly run in my opinion. Overall if I could make the same money at Deloitte I would go back in a heartbeat
I got a 55% increase

I mean, I would imagine slightly more cutthroat culture depending on project/service line. Overall, it’s SSDD
I think it depends on the group you’re in. I went from EY’s FSO Audit, which was cliquey/cutthroat/toxic to Deloitte’s Financial Advisory arm, which has a flatter hierarchy and a much friendlier culture.
I make more money, have greater work life balance, and I’m progressing super fast career-wise. The technology also blows EY out of the water. Uncle D has been good to me.
