Nails that are natural, slightly longer, and manicured make you look put together and professional. Those in the picture send a message that you’re inefficient and not serious about you’re work. Fair? Probably not, but you asked because you already know the answer.
I'd appreciate it. Anything that promotes color and personality to usually boring/sterile work environments should be valued.
Mine are usually long but I try and keep them appropriate-ish
Appropriate-ish for what?
My nails are naturally long. I only do designs on holidays and when I’m going on vacation. Otherwise I try and do neutral. I just don’t want to give anybody any reason to judge me more than they already do lol.
I’m just wondering (always have but never asked) how do you type and stuff with these? I assume it’d be difficult but maybe I’m just bad at typing lol
I put some SHORT press ons on last week, they lasted about 5 minutes into my work day lmao.
I have my nails done during slower times of the year. If someone is going to judge my ability to do my job based on my nails, I don’t need them in my life. I admire people who express who they really are and get the job done.
You don't get to choose who is in your life at work. Hence the post.
They are awesome but not professional, unfortunately. Will lead to negative attention from most people, maybe even mostly from other women who think you're trying to get romantic attention/advantage. That's usually how the line is drawn in office attire.
Not professional for office setting
Personally I wouldn’t judge it at all but I don’t know how people generally view this.
You do you.
These look immature. I like shorter nails with a sheer pink polish.
People here are unnecessarily rude. The truth is that in most traditional workspaces, especially those dominated by men, you might be judged because they simply don’t understand why someone would want nice nails. I would say trust your gut on this one, especially if you’re only in the office one day out of the week. I’ve personally had nails similar to this length but with no design and it’s fine.
I’m an entry level analyst, always gets my nails done with designs, sometimes pretty long (but with my natural nails but acrylics), and all I’ve gotten from my office coworkers/team members are compliments and asks for the nail artists’ contact. On a tangent, I once balayaged my hair and dyed it bright red. My mentor (who is very senior) told me she loves it so much and if anyone makes a fuss about it she will personally go fight them (but of course, internally, not with clients). So I feel like the internal environments are really relaxed and more receptive, but if the clients are more old school it could be a concern.
Always have the funky nails - it’s 2022, the nails shouldn’t be the reason you look unprofessional!
Completely inappropriate for the workplace, in my opinion light pink or French tips at an appropriate length are the only ways I would go!
This is pretty overboard you know that right. Only a French mani?
It’s 2022. I feel like the old corporation standard has tried to follow us and make us feel bad for having self expression. This is no longer a thing. Younger men and women are holding more senior positions and these types of things simply don’t affect the work environment of anyone.
I always have my nails done with unique designs/art. I don’t get acrylics. My nails are a little long but not even close to the length of these. Dgaf as long as the design is tasteful and I can get my work done.
I do long nails all the time. Not necessarily with designs but I’ve never been looked at differently for it. Only thing I’ve been asked is how I type with them.
Rising Star
Is self-expression by nails Really that important? Serious question. Seems unnecessary.
Girl who cares. You’re in the office one day a week, get the nails.
