Thoughts on the Zodiac Sea Wolf GMT?

I like the grey and white, world-time version a lot

Not a fan of the particular model, but absolutely love the brand. Zodiac has an impressive history and it’s timepieces are of high quality - you get much more than you pay for imo

Ugly asf, looks like an invicta knockoff of the Rolex GMT

like

C1 - whatever dude

I don't love that particular design, but I love a lot of Zodiac's more out-there colors. I have a "sherbet" (orange and white) GMT and really enjoy wearing it. The crazy colors combined with otherwise vintage anesthetics is fun to me

If it’s a Pepsi bezel and not a Rolex gmt, it just looks weird.

like

Fair, hard to beat the ubiquity of the Rolex Pepsi GMT.

Although Tudor and Timex both have popular Pepsi Bezel GMTs in their own right. Granted it’s possible the popularity is driven by people wanting a cheaper look alike for the Rolex. Not my goal here as I personally wouldn’t buy the Rolex Pepsi GMT, much prefer the all rose gold root beer or two-two root beer.

Probably not the Zodiac I would get, but also it seems something’s off with the color tint of this photo - I also saw the dial and bracelet as almost a champagne/ light gold color. So even though the bezel looks garish to me in this photo, maybe in the metal it’s different.

Second picture that OP posted further down in the thread is much better indeed, good-looking watch after all. I still would rather buy the funkier bezel colors vs a Pepsi scheme, but it’s a good watch from a good brand, price is very decent, you should definitely get it if it speaks to you

Looks like a relic of the 90s. Pass

Fair! The retro/vintage look appeals to me though

I’m not into gold, but what does it do and how deep can it go?

This is a steel piece. Factory specs say 200m, and zodiac has a history as a Swiss dive watch maker.

Not a true GMT if that matters to you.

Yes, I noted that they don’t have their actual GMT movement in this model. A little annoying, but still apparently has a GMT functionality.

I really wanted to like Zodiac. I’m a former navy help pilot, so the idea of a watch called the Sea Wolf (Seawolves were a famous Navy helo squadron in Vietnam) was appealing to me.
For some reason they are just not quite there for me, can’t say exactly why not. I kinda dig some of the brighter color ones.
Re: true vs home time GMT, it’s not that big of a deal. Own both and I like both styles.

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

Moving to San Diego in the spring from the central coast. Any recs on places to live (late 30’s with a kid)? Want to be close to restaurants and things to do, but a little too old and tired for gas lamp!

I have a third round interview this Thursday, but after I sent my availability, I booked a flight for work that is causing a problem. The interview ended up scheduled for 3:30-4:15, and I'm supposed to be on a 5pm flight out of LGA. Is there a reliably quiet place at LGA to do the interview (I don't have lounge access)? Would it be a bad idea to say my availability changed and I can't do that time slot anymore? Or should I cancel / rebook my flight to later at night?

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

Does anyone have any advise on how to become a staff video editor at a creative production company? They usually don't have any "job openings" listed on their site.

I have 5+ years of experience working at a creative ad agency, but much of the work was pitch/sizzle videos (yuck).

I'm freelancing now which has been a great step in the right direction but I'd eventually love to be on staff at a post house like The Den, Cut+Run, Company 3 etc. pumping out cool work. Just seems hard to break in.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. And when we ask her about it, she gets mad.

I'm worried that if I speak up, she'll make my life even harder. I don't want to lose my job because of this—do you guys have any advice?
