Hi IBM sharks 🦈
So I got interviewed for a project by the IBM team. The interviewer told me that its a go ahead from their end, now the client will assess my profile and if they too are fine with it, I will be onboarded?
Is it true that we have client interview as well? If yes then after how many days of interview by IBM team, client interview takes place?
Or its just that if the IBM team is fine with it, we are selected for the project?
Any inputs on this will really help :)
Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). What roles would I be a fit for? Public experience includes tax and audit. EY PwC KPMG Deloitte

Anyone at Deloitte know how to view utilization?
New to Fishbowl?

Hope Deloitte could do that too!
Guys. You can not be staffed on a project for 11 weeks and make 90% utilization. That is 5 weeks of PTO and 6 weeks other / beach time. stop complaining!
So does PwC.
Deloitte definitely needs to do this too if they want people to stay around!
PTO does hit our utilization. They just state that if you take XX hours of PTO you should still be able to achieve XX% utilization for the year.
PTO counting against utilization and having to do PRD work are the two main reasons I haven't switched to Deloitte yet.
@op, how many of those are currently billable for the foreseeable future?
So does Accenture
Have not been concerned with utilization since my first year. Do your superiors like you? Are you billable on the day they meet to decide promotions/raised? If yes/yes, bill ability does not matter.
Are you sure unsanctioned?
On second thought, I can see how team metrics for managers might matter and I'm picturing the internal interview: "u qualified?" "...yes." "But how much PTO do you have stored up?"
P2, yep. If you view your metrics through Spark, there's a built-in statement to that effect.
PwC doesn't exclude it from utilization. Mine sure did take a huge hit after my vacation
I swear I saw a statement that pto didn't count!
But I wonder if they still have targets but they are factoring "not counting" PTO. As in it equals out to Deloitte having targets and dinging you for PTO.
On a related note, I have counselees scheduled for an RPM "talent review" soon. The format is the standard three-minute consensus-style discussion. The only selection criterion: missing targeted utilization by 5% or more.
Pwc people: you are saying the same thing. Pwc does not count your PTO towards utilization. If you take PTO, your util goes down accordingly.
@booz1, all of my counselees are 100% billable right now and, barring unforeseen circumstances, will meet year-end targets. But ceremony must be followed, and if it winds up as an exercise to help folks find billable work, all the better.
Wow sure hope Deloitte considers that
See D5. Firms that exclude PTO from calcs have higher util targets. Also, many other firms don't bill 45 hrs as standard practice. This is a tired old argument
