Wow how lazy. Sorry to hear that.

Kind of feel bad for the recruiters here too. They’re being phased out.

It’s a staffing agency that posted for a creative role. Resume passed the first glance but now they’re asking me to do a quick interview conducted by AI. It’s another part of the screening process before passing along to the actual employer…no longer talking to a human.

That’s dumb. I know it’s not a buyer’s market but I personally would be tempted to just pass.

Are you interviewing AI? Is AI interviewing you?

Hard no.

You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Great reference

Just don't call the AI a "skinjob" in the interview, it might have access to the internet

Come again…?

I know everyone is saying not to do it but here’s why I’m going to move forward with it. This could very well become the norm whether we like it or not. And if that’s the case then I’d rather learn the game now when it’s at the beginning stages vs. when it becomes the standard practice. Better to have the exposure now.

It may one day be standard practice, but it isn't right now. The fact is that AI right now is still very unreliable at any meaningful analysis, let alone the fact that its answers are generally derivative and uninteresting.

The fact that an agency is conducting interviews with AI in its current state, especially for a creative position is, to me, a red flag. It says to me that they don't understand how technology works and are lazy.

I would look elsewhere.

FYI for everyone shocked Meta announced they are implementing this. All screening will be done by AI very soon. Horrifying but, yeah.

Get an AI model to do your part of the interview! Then it’s AI vs AI!

Solid tips or strategies on cutting back on alcohol? My bf & I were moderate drinkers before the pandemic, but over the year I’m fairly confident we’ve become heavy drinkers (6-7days/wk). I’m stressed about it and have mentioned cutting back for a while, but he insists we’re fine. I find it rly difficult to go cold turkey or cut by myself when he’s still drinking as “normal” and we share our living space. We’re aware of all the health risks, but that alone hasn’t changed us. All advice welcome!
