Rice village is good, so is the Heights, and Montrose. Houston also has an amazing food scene! Hope you enjoy!
Rising Star
It’s nice but if you’re traveling lots it’s a bit further from the airport. The Heights is nice and 15 mins closer to the airport. Just a thought.
Hmmmm… I hate to dissent, but Rice village is hard for commuting, and very family-oriented. For a young couple, and easy access to the airport, the Heights is a better choice - easier to commute to Deloitte‘s office as well. Not to mention, better value. I say this after having lived in Rice Village and moved to the Heights…
The advice given here on both neighborhoods is pretty spot on. Rice Village has alot going on traffic wise but it is a great area and mixed as far as age demo goes esp with its proximitiy to Rice Univ, St Thomas, etc. You're minutes away with Montrose and not far from the Heights kf you fancy the area. Heights if you're going to fly out of IAH is your best bet. But you won't hate your life if you choose Rice Village. Enjoy!! :)
Great choice
Appreciate the insights (and support). I’ll be bringing my car and plan to do lots of things all over Houston - great boxing gyms and restaurants and events
Rice village is dope
Good neighborhood, lots to offer, but if you are new to the city, please don't limit yourself to walking distance, explore the entirety that houston has to offer as it is a melting pot of cultures, including food, art, and traditions
Rise village is great and pretty central. I live in the heights and like it because I’m closer to downtown and the airport but I often dine and go out in the rice village area. There are great running trails and a decent golf course too. As long as rice village is affordable it works.
Nice area!
Yep, can’t go wrong with any of the following: heights, montrose, Kirby, rice village, galleria
+1 this list
Rice is great!!
Rice Village is great. I’m just a few miles west. Tons to do. Most walkable part of Houston. Tons of restaurants. Close to downtown Greenway, Galleria and Med Center.
Yes! I think you’ll come to quickly enjoy it!
How much is rent?
Great choice second only to Historic 5th Ward congratulations!
Yes, one of best areas Houston has to offer tbh
It’s dope.
Not good for getting to the airports
Nearer to the Woodlands world seem to be a good choice if you’re traveling, but depends on with your gf does for work.
