My question is not regarding the car, but about what percentage of your net worth (minus liabilities) can be spent on a depreciating asset such as car.
Very good point!
I guess 40% of your CTC should be a good indicator.
So my annual salary should be 25L in order to buy a 10L car? No relevance with net worth?
If you don’t care about what people think. Buy the same car but an almost new second hand. That’s like immediate discount of atleast 1.5L.
What kind of car are you thinking about?
Compact SUV. Tata nexon in particular
Do you want luxury or battery powered?

Agree with D1, 40% is usually the marker but also think about net income per month vs payments, and other obligations etc. You might have high net worth but also high expenses so it can easily become too much to handle
It highly depends on your lifestyle and priorities. It's not just about what other people think but how you feel about the car and the lifestyle you have to support that car.
