I don’t have a middle name, so I’d say it’s not required? But don’t quote me on that!
Very unhelpful. But thanks.
You atleast need to have the middle initial on the ticket
It depends on the airline's requirements when checking in. Most want the full name as it's written on the passport, but on occasion you'll find a few that just ask for first/last name or first/last name and middle initial.
Getting different answers from airlines. Just asking for anybody’s personal precedence with air india (international leg)
Here you go -- looks like for Air India you need to use the full name as written on the passport: "In case of International travel, the name should be entered & matched *exactly as it appears on the passport* i.e. complete SURNAME and GIVEN NAME."
See this link for more info: https://www.airindia.in/new-correct-name-bookings.htm
Thanks. This is on most airlines websites. Even when past times I have entered, the middle names truncates because of length.
Just looking for any personal precedence with air india..
You don't need it. I have a long middle name that often didn't appear in boarding passes for international flights to/from the usa and never had a problem. But I never flew on air India.
Thanks M2. I will go ahead with the ticket! 🤞
Why can’t airlines update it? Some airlines I know let’s you update a few characters after booking
They can’t. God save from incapable costumer service and inefficient processes.
Hence asking if there is even a single precedence that it doesn’t matter..
