I have noticed a lot of hospitals are hiring techs, at least where I am. The little local pharmacy is fine though as far as I know. I wonder why hospitals are having so much extra trouble with turn over right now.
Yep, we have been super understaffed for almost 2 years now. I work in Delaware in a hospital, and it has been nearly impossible keeping people. It seems like COVID was the start of it & it's been a struggle ever since!! I've been here awhile so I'm not going anywhere, but I've had to work a lot of overtime lately because of the shortage.
We were actually very adequately staffed for 3 years and we have a supervisor that is firing people left and right for no good reason. too bad we didn’t know about the shortage before we started treating the staff like crap!
During COVID surges my itsy bitsy little 26 bed hospital was paying pharmacy technicians base pay plus $100 an hour. We didn’t have enough staffing with our 4 full time technicians. We were able to staff out of our other campuses and although during that time, all my techs made more money than me… I was happy to have them and welcomed them. They are much better and more efficient at making IVs than me.
not in retail!!! nyc independent pharmacies don’t require certified techs!!! you get what you pay for!! salary is very low .. minimum wage or a dollar or two above
Not in my area - SF Bay Area - but I have a friend in the Austin area and they are having trouble finding people for many roles.
Yep! I work at two different hospitals and they are both having trouble keeping technicians
Yes, VA New York

Really? Or maybe not from where I live. We have so many tech applicants here but only few get admitted.
Yep, it's becoming an issue across many states
Not in Georgia that I know of but I have heard that we are experiencing a shortage other plaves.
