Without a degree I’d look for regional industry specific consulting, where the experience is applicable. Consulting at scale is largely an MBA plug and play exercise and he/she won’t get a fair shake without any academic credentials

McKinsey engagement, case in point to start

Sounds a lot like me at 30. Have them find a subject area they excel at. The restaurant industry gives an individual great soft skills and thinking on their feet-let alone work ethic. Unfortunately I can’t speak for specific books/courses unless they have that area of focus. I’m 35 now and awaiting a manager offer at another firm. This was all hard work in 6 years. They can succeed!

I’m open if they are wanting to chat with someone if very similar experience. I’m in Cyber now

Some sincere advice, I’d ask in the FB community if anyone made it to consulting with out a college degree would share their journey. I think that info would be helpful to your sibling a lot as a start.

What speciality does your sibling have? Specifically, what does edge want to do in consulting?

*what does he want to do in consulting

NEED SOME CAREER ADV

i am pretty good at my job but am not seeing fairness in pay and can't stand my department (cool kids club/good ole boy club). I am being considered for a HR Analyst role as we speak with potential of making $20k more (HR and Talent Acquisition are separate at my company). Is it worth the jump to HR/Benefits or should I just get the experience and eventually make more money in Recruiting? I have a general background in HR but find recruiting to be super easy, to be honest.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Hey all. coming into the new year, I’m making a career pivot as a Business Development Rep with Beck Tech. I’ve been in sales for about 7 years, with my most recent role being a Territory Manager for a small business. If anyone has been in this role before, any advice would be appreciated going into a new industry 🙏🏽

Best MBB (or all other consulting firm) EM level exits? I got a fin tech for $270 TC with promises it could go up to $320-350ish in a couple years. Maybe could have done better on comp but i get to basically own a product internationally and am really excited to work in this field (involves web3, blockchain, supply chain, ventures, etc). Lots of promises like quick progresion and international travel and a team being built out and budget to manage…will see. Curious what others have been getting?

I've risen in my org to a Sr. Director level running a virtual BU, but seem to have maxed out my title and responsibility despite a history of exceptional results & solid relationships. A mentor ~3 years back was pushing me for VP, but left for a CRO role and since have been stagnant despite doing my best work. I know I'm paid well and have an excellent brand, but feel like I could be doing more. I'm also highly visible making a search externally difficult. Any ideas on breaking out?

Thoughts on working in-house early in career versus the other way around? I’m a student and my past experience and internship offers are heavy on the in house ‘startup’ d2c brand archetype... Hey mates, I have an overall experience of 14 years with 6lakh CTC. Started my career in BPO though I am from computer science background and then proved myself for the IT movement within the same company before 8 years (6 years in BPO and 8 years in IT). Nothing is changed financially but in a better role. Have got certified in GCP. I stayed here for too long because I was looking for an onshore opportunity but now luck is not favouring me in H1B lottery. Looking for your valuable suggestions!

What’s the best HR certification? I’m looking to move to a generalist role from DLS (not with Amazon). I’ve been in disability for the past four years though so I think getting PHR/SHRM would be helpful for transition.

This job market is insane right now.

Now, with all of these layoffs... employers have the upper hand, and it's super competitive to land the job.

I work full time as a senior manager (L7) at Amazon. I've passed one the hardest interview that Amazon has to be a part of the executive team.

I started coaching on the side and really fell in love with it. I've helped a ton of people land their dream job!

For anyone who needs to hear this today to keep motivation up- when I started my side gig, I didn’t know if it would ever take off. Wasn’t sure if digital courses are a thing. Wasn’t sure if it can truly be passive. And now, while I was interviewing for a job, an order popped into my inbox. Not the first time, not the last time, but the frequency is steadily increasing. Paid, fulfilled on spot. Of course you have to do the work, but the days when you feel like giving up, remember why you started

Leadership hinted I'll be a good candidate for promotion this year.

Should I wait for the title bump (+pay increase), then jump ship? Or does the promo not matter in the long-run?

Been under the radar recently due to life stuff. But taking this soapbox to remind everyone that you don't have to be 100% with your diet and exercise every single day. Everyone has off days, and that's ok. Looking after your mental AND physical health is important.

So just a reminder to love yourself and to reach out if you need support!

Looking for advice:
My dept has 2 directors. One is so rude. The other ignores the issue. The previous HR director told me to report any issues because she was building a case (not appropriate info to share, I know). She's since left and there's a new HR director. This rude guy has recently sent me several very rude things through email and I'm debating how to handle it. Is it worth it to talk to HR? Im worried it'll just make things worse since none of it is "wrong", just rude and insensitive.

I've got 3 open roles to fill for a client in Chicago, 2 PMO Directors, 1 Change Mgmt analyst. DM me if interested.
