Two days off, and I spent both running errands and adulting. Now I'm heading into a 12-hour shift already feeling wiped out. Seriously, do you have any tips for actually resting on your days off instead of just playing catch-up with life?

I try to automate and outsource as much as I can so I'm not having to spend all of my free time essentially working. I have a house cleaner that comes twice a month, I get my groceries delivered on a subscription basis, I meal prep once every two weeks so my meals are all made and frozen in advance.

Ohhh I am big on grocery delivery I have target and also Walmart and it’s a life saver !!!

Yep, sounds about right. Although I rarely get two days off in a row, ha ha ha. But when I do get off, there’s just so much to do.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

T3 firm reached out re: direct admit to the partnership with some runway to grow the practice. I am at a firm now where there aren’t bright line metrics to make PPMD, but think I could make it in 2-5 years. This would be a step down in brand, but might be better from a WLB and getting to start at partner. Haven’t had firm comp talks yet but range was well north of 50% increase in cash comp from current (plus LT equity, draws, etc). Anyone take $ over brand? what are some traps to watch for?

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

Hello all, I work full time as an RN at the VA. I’ve been looking for a side hustle to do on my own time. I would love to review cases such as prior authorization, records for 2nd opinions, etc. The positions that I come across generally require a commitment of at least 24 hrs which is not feasible. Anyone know of any opportunities?
