I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Coach
I would wait until they present an offer, ask for it via email and 24 hours to review it in detail.
Wait a minimum of 12 hours to respond - don’t seem desperate. Respond and say “I’m really excited to work with ABC company in this role, in the offer negotiable”.
Don’t say a word until they respond. Once they do, you say “from my research and competitive interviews - the market is commanding xxx,xxx/year”
Wait and see what they say. If they don’t hit your target amount - say this next.
“I really need to be at xxx,xxx to make this move, how close can you get to this number?” - you should be able to get closer to the true market value.
Now - do you research, come armed with examples (payscale, Robert half, Mercer, etc.) with comparative pay data, for your role, city and industry. This further helps support your case.
Good luck, and go get that raise!
Amazing - Thank you, this is so helpful.
