You can migrate to any eCommerce platform that you want and preserve the SEO value acquired over time, but you need a migration strategy to maintain such gains and even more, improve upon it. Shopify (and Shopify Plus) and Wix are “SEO-friendly”, they both have ample documentation for optimization.
You will need to be super careful with your migration. Find an experienced SEO consultant. Here’s a starter: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/site-move-with-url-changes
You can use BigCommerce, the problem is not in the platform, it’s in the available skills of their web developers and web designers to make it work for the business, it may be more complex, more workarounds, more deep customization, but it’s feasible. Not every eCommerce has the money to change platforms overnight, specially large eCommerce sites. Small ones are very easy and not too costly.
Use the Headless feature of BigCommerce. What that means is the entire “engine” of your site will be run in BigCommerce but you can design the front end however you want, and a developer will help you connect both together. I’m not that developer right now but this shouldn’t be tough to implement.
