How is work culture at Bangalore MS? I have heard rumours about layoffs and firing in MS, should we be worried about it? Which would be better to join?
Larsen & Toubro Infotech Is it good time to join Cognizant now for Coimbatore location considering too much attrition in recent times along with many policy changes and do they have enough projects or will there be any chance of layoffs if we don't find any projects for our skill(Tableau in my case)? I have another offer with LTI, Coimbatore for same salary but i prefer CTS more than LNT. Cognizant Larsen & Toubro Infotech

Source : Trust me bro?
Ad and SM might be on list. But in terms of numbers they are very very few. So if the objective from Dan is to reduce numbers then many band 7-8 also might go. Which seems more likely. I think the employees with issues with go first. Like rto or attendance, then weak performance folks, then the ones who aren't critical for business to run and are overpaid.
Just FYI, I know some of the top performing people(b5) who got layed off in us. So don't belive it's happening based on rating/merit etc.
hmmm... then my Sr Mgr is lying 😞
There is no way 2000 full time employees will be impacted, at least not all at once. Is this vz count or contractors included?
It looks like 2000 includes only FTE's. Not vendors or contractors.
I left verizon 4 yrs back for a better opportunity. In fact, I felt same during my tenure. If this s still the case today, better late than never on their strategy revamping. On a side note, my mgr had promised that I was given top performer rating, and once he got to know that I was leaving, he reduced my rating without a verbal consent at least. Few such people out there. If the count 20% is true, omg this is a biggest acceptance of a bad strategy and they just have woken up.
You definitely made the right call leaving VZ at the right time, bro. Nothing has really changed the management layer is still tangled in politics, bureaucracy, and blind decision-making. If this 20% number is true, it’s basically an admission that the strategy has failed for years. Unfortunately, the ones who stay end up carrying the weight while leadership keeps pretending everything is fine.
• Leaders blindly pushing another new delivery model without strategy.
• ATO processes are theoretical and hurting teams.
• Morale-boosting calls by leaders won’t fix anything.
• Wake-up call for those staying — time to rethink decisions.
• Verizon sliding into a black hole focused only on shareholder value.
• Employees treated as numbers — get out of this number game.
You’ve summed up exactly what many teams face here, titles changing without purpose, promotions going to the wrong people, innovation getting ignored, and leaders hiding during accountability moments. It really has turned into a network of friendships instead of merit. At the end of the day, deserving people are the ones paying the price. Completely agree those affected aren’t the problem; the culture is. All they can do now is move to a healthier workplace.
Leadership reshuffles also expected. Big concern is loss of long-term talent + vendors, which increases workload for those who stay.
As a 2-year top performer, even I feel the direction is worrying. Feels like employees = numbers; shareholder value is the only priority now.
Thought to ponder:
Finally check this prompt in Gemini
"What if the 50% of the laid off people join T-Mobile or the 13000 people move their connections along with their family connections to T- Mobile"
Stay prepared.
Either way, if a company is driving in right direction and know how to measure milestones in their path, they are safe bet.
Layoffs reduces cash burn, but at a long time due to immediate severance settlement.
How the company will capitalise and utilize the saved penny is where they will be positioned by.
Competitors being comcast, t mobile, at&t very big players, each would have devised their short term, long term strategies by now. It is just the matter of time, who is winning the race.
I see this layoff as a portion of their strategy to be in the race, but not winning the race, as the talent is lost forever.
Anyone know about the VGS impact where teams work in Tracfone acquisition projects?
Sorry I dunno bro. I am part of VCG.
Someone has used to copy and publish the same info at thelayoff.com

What is NI
I feel deeply sad for the employees & colleagues who got impacted due to layoff. I know it must be very hard for you guys to experience layoffs during festive month. A silver line in dark cloud is that Verizon has given a very good severance package & monetary benefits that can easily help you survive without job for a year or two. So we can think of this time as long paid leaves to spend time with family & friends without work pressure. This is something that is really great. Also everyone of you can easily get the job within 6 months or max 1 year. & the severance package has a good amount that can help you & your families & take care of employee families.
