Wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on this short term vs long term decision; currently I’m a consultant making 100k. Friend just got a job offer from another competitor for 150k senior consultant . I won’t hit senior until summer 24. My thought process is when I hit senior in 2 year I can apply for a manger role elsewhere for more. Should I follow suit as my friend and run or stay the course?

Is Valuation ( financial advisory) a good niche to transfer into? How’s the job demand and exit opportunity look like ?

Got an offer from Microsoft for a tech lead position. Considering the San Francisco office as opposed to relocating to Seattle. How big is the SF office, are there technology groups that sit in that office? Would it be too hard to network and connect if most of the groups sit in Seattle?

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. I'm looking for front-end web design work, and work from home. I am a strong designer and basically set up landing pages for large companies on a proprietary CMS in our company. Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. I faked my resume I mean my contracting firm did and I didn’t have choice and I got the job. Now my client wants to offer me a full time position. I kind of feel like they trust me with the work I’m doing and also considering my past experiences to offer me a full time and moreover it’s only been 3 months.

I know it’s a little unusual but what do you guys think/suggest me to do in this situation?!

I’m so grumpy about new campus hires. Sometimes I’m judgmental (your hobby is “working on your golf swing,” really?). Sometimes I’m just exhausted by the worried earnestness.
