The main reasons to stay at a firm once you hit manager and senior manager is you want to be a partner, or don’t have a good exit op yet. I would never commute 3hrs a day, but sounds like a good exit op

like

Sounds like a great opportunity. Salary is just 1 piece of compensation, what about PTO, 401K match, and PFL ?

like

15 days of PTO is a joke. Not enough and they will make you log the days strictly. 15% is low too, that’s even lower than a FAAS manager PBB for a high performer. Are you a high performer?

Decision comes down to wasting 3 hours of your day to the commute. Assuming you have a family or starting one soon it may not be the wisest decision in terms of giving up remote working

Makes sense OP. I would personally stay but that’s because I would rather stay but I may be biased since I prefer EY’s WFH (as of now) and unlimited PTO.

Promotion is from manager 3 to senior manager. Expect 15% salary raises each year from m2 to m3 to sm1 assuming good performance. Then PBB bonus is separate based on performance.

Is it worth sticking around long term?

How much stock? In what stage is the company in? What’s the value of the stock right now? These should help answer your question.

Anyone knows what the salary range for People Analytics Advisor role at BP (the oil company) is? I have an interview coming up and I don’t want to negotiate myself out of an offer. What would you do if you were me? I quit my job a few months ago and started thinking about creating my own start-up - I've had this itch for years but was too busy selling every second of my life to advertising agencies. The salary is great but I am not excited at all about it and this would again bring to a halt what I really want to do in life. *A bit more info in the comments.

I work at a boutique (currently ~14 bankers and 10 back office roles). Joined in august. Since august, 3 senior bankers (MD / VP) 1 HR director, and now 2 analysts have left for great opportunities. To be honest I’m happy and like my role, plus it’s too early to think about switching firms already. I am now the only analyst left, we have another one joining in January. Any advice on how I can leverage this for comp discussions at the end of the year?

As a heads up. If any of you are interviewing at Facebook and were planning to leverage their offer to negotiate at another company, they will recall their emails to you with any offer information as soon as they think it’s a no. I told them I was not interested 2 hours ago because it was an exploding offer (even though I haven’t finished negotiating my other offers), and the email is already gone. Thankfully I took a screenshot as soon as I got it.

Need a suit recommendation in the $500-800 price range. I got a couple Jos A Banks suits tailored when I was an intern, and they served me fine for that purpose, but haven’t upgraded since because I hardly ever needed one. I’m not going to need a suit for office-wear anytime soon, but would like at least one nice, versatile suit for weddings and receptions, etc. My size has changed since college, so I’ll need to get measured. I’m not in a major city, but will be in Boston and DC fairly often.
