Go to FAANG. Functional experience will be more and more important going forward

Does BCG also give return offers? If so, no downside to taking FAANG imo - it should be pretty easy to return to BCG regardless if you don’t like the new job
And OP, lots of people leave right before and right after promotion, our model is based on many good people leaving and becoming clients down the road. Finish out your case or set it up for a good handoff and no one will hold it against you
Congrats to the offer! I’d take it, I don’t think there is significant upside in the PL title as you progress in tech.
Do you mind sharing the type of role, e.g. business ops, PM and the rough comp?

Sure, it’s a pretty specific role so don’t want to out myself but it’s a non technical job and it’s 220k base, ~20% bonus, 30k signing bonus, and some amount of RSUs that we are still going back and forth on.
Can you delay your start date to get the PL title? It’ll look good on your resume down the line to show you got promoted and left by choice for a new opportunity.

Not allowed and routinely done are two different things lol. Everyone who I know left, had their offer before they went on transition
1. If your goal long term is relaxing and making bank, FAANG is the route you want to take
2. If your in the middle of comp negotiations, I’d use the BCG Max PL1 comp as your BATNA to make sure you are made whole if you leave
3. If you’re able to delay them until the promo, do that. If you need to decide now...pick FAANG, you can always come back to BCG as a PL later (assuming good standing)
Congrats!

What’s your end goal?

Go to FAANG. I’ve heard PL life is not easy.
I’d say take it and if you leave in good standing you can always come back (especially after the economy turns for the better)
I’d suggest getting the PL promo first. It’ll help your CV long term. (I left just before getting promoted and regret it as subsequent jobs have questioned why I wasn’t promoted.)
