I think it depends on if your firm is providing the same service as a Big 4, McKinsey/Bain/BCG, or if they are more specialized / in a niche. I work for a small firm, but I’ve only noticed an increase in work over the last three years. We have some strategic partnerships with larger firms because they don’t necessarily have the expertise in our niche, which has allowed us to grow quite a bit in the last 36 months.
Personally, I love working at a smaller firm. I enjoy taking more of a leadership role and having more responsibility. Our firm has pretty decent work life balance also, which for me is a huge plus as someone who is looking to have a kid in the near future.

Wouldn’t right now, big 4 dropping prices to win work, little guys will get squeezed out rn IMO
Is it true for india or across the world?
You bet on your self, you’re still working for a company even though you’re employed as a 1099 not a W-2. If they offer a base with benefits excellent. If they do not be prepared to work hard using their methodologies to bring in the bucks
Would be a W-2 employee with benefits
