Hi fishies. I have a ton of interviews coming up soon including a case interview at EY within their Innovation and Experience Design practice for Digital Strategy Manager. I am super comfortable with CX, design thinking, etc which are the types of projects I would be working on BUT I am absolutely terrible in case interviews. I was hoping it would be based on CX or design but my understanding is there is some revenue component idk. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly greatly appreciate it!

I really think they shafted you cause you' are an h1b.
I'm sorry to here this, where are you located, maybe i or someone else can help you out
EY3 no need to be apologetic for telling the truth. It is what it is.
The famous PwC "shadow layoffs" strike again. Did you know PwC "didn't layoff a single person" during the GFC? Unbelievable, but true!
Really? Then it's my crappy luck. Really wish it wasn't me. But then again my layoff can't be justified as well, no real reason, just some random picking and cutting cuz some partner didn't like or know me.
So sorry to know, can you please share from which team do you belong from? I know companies such as Walmart, Visa, Wells Fargo, Adobe, Apple is still hiring for data engineers. Maybe you can try your luck there, good luck 👍
Chief
Plenty of reasons for layoff and your reviews don't matter. I would also steer clear of the mindset that somehow you being on a visa was the reason. Look at Banks, many of whom will hire data engineers. Visa or not.
Same thing happened to me from PwC.
Similar thing happened here… it’s done, and all the wondering in the world will never uncover the truth. Very possible a partner caused some issues, if not that then what? Don’t let people say you’re paranoid and listen to your gut, when you know you know.
Sorry to hear OP, I was laid off last month. Also had great snapshot and performance review. Fortunately, I don't have visa issues. I wish that you will find a new job soon.
Yeah, it's a tough market now. Still searching...
Among all factors you presented, unlike some has pointed out, H1B/international status is the least likely factor in deciding to let you go. Among the reasons that you haven’t mentioned, it could be that you receive / expect to receive more compensation and bonus than comparable resources in your team / your peers, which, based on your information, is likely. In this case, you’re doing great and you should feel confident about your skills and abilities.
S&2 i know someone who has been SA for 5 years. They should be M2 if they naturally progress and if I'm not wrong, so i don't know how they evaluate someone to be not having potential.
Data engineering and they let you go? We can’t hire people like you fast enough. PwC is a strange a firm, can’t wait to boomerang back to Deloitte
Yes shocked myself. Highly technical role.
Sad fact is that the last to get hired and the first to go always end up being internationals. I struggled a lot with this too until I got the green card. No advice here but good luck, I’m rooting for you!
I think ZS is still on freeze but they have jobs posted… if you see anything DM me a link and your email I’ll put in a referral. Good luck!
Thank you i will
Sorry OP. If you find anything interesting at Santander Bank, DM for referral.
Might be able to link you up with Citibank
Thank you
Hi Guys,
I was laid off in July. I have been facing rejections after rejections and haven’t been able to strike a lot of interviews. Could you guys let me know what worked best for you? Did you guys go more from the referral route?
What the hell? I’m so sorry 😭
Sorry to hear that! Are you part of C&D?
I am or rather was. But technical or not, didn't matter.
Oh god
Op I would post in the global immigration and job referral bowl. Even the consulting one tbh
Thanks i will
Sorry to hear about the layoffs. What type of severance did PwC provide?
That’s awful, how long had you been with the firm?
What level?
