I’ve noticed on Glassdoor, salaries for my level (Director) are higher than my base but have similar bonus opportunity. At what level of pay gap would you push or make a stink? In hindsight I should have pushed more during the hiring process. At 160k base now, seeing ranges in the 170s to low 180s. These are specific to my current company.

Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I've worked for the past 3 years in a practice that is heavily consulting based (inbound and outbound structuring) and I feel like I'm only just starting to understand the foundational concepts (where I can explain them clearly to clients) and offering a shred of value. Then I'll have calls where partners discuss complex tax, legal, treasury and other related concepts that all go over my head.. it becomes overwhelming

Hello Fishes, is 15 LPA a reasonable compensation for Machine learning engineer (python, c++, computer vision and deep learning ) with 2 years of experience, current working for a product based company. If not what is the current industry standard. I keep seeing people posting 30+ LPA for data science roles with 3+ yoe.

Hi everyone. I was a solution engineer at Oracle. I graduated from college in May and this was my first job out of college so the lay offs were pretty rough. I majored in Supply chain management and I have 2 internships under my belt. Do you guys have any advice or tips on what to do moving forward? I would like to stay in tech and I’m giving it a few weeks before I start pivoting to more traditional supply chain roles. Thanks.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
