Was told by a Recruiter the assessment test was jaded and only 1 person passed. Said they found it odd that the same questions were answered the same and still marked incorrect with more than 10 candidates. They gave me the same assessment and of coarse, I failed as well. I have never failed an assessment before. After all the crying was done, I started wondering why they gave me a test they think is jaded? How could they have? And the Recruiter gave me a hint on one of the questions...

Did they do this because they wanted to see if it really is? And what were the questions that were asked because how did everyone fail it with the same answers? That seems so weird to me and them hinting at one of the answers is odd to me too.

It was all multiple choice. They said I can take the test again in 6 months. I need the job now... so that is not helpful.

Just repeated what the Recruiter said. I took it to mean "sketchy". Especially with the way she explained it. She tried to get the company to provide a different assessment. They denied the request. On to more applications.

Companies would do better to do away with these assessments. They cost corporations too much money, are time consuming, and really do not tell anything about the person who is trying to apply for the job. Also, these assessments in many instances do not even allow people to be able to apply for the job or to be considered for the job. Then the companies complain "that we can not find help". If they did away with these then they most likely would find help. Get rid of them, they are a waste!

That sounds like a porblem with the exam.

The whole process is a problem! I only take 1 assessment and if I do not pass. I move on. When applying for multiple positions with the same company, you are made to take an assessment with each application. I am not wasting my time with a company that was not going to hire me to begin with.

That sounds like a porblem with the exam.

Sounds more like a psych test than a competency test

what do you mean when you say it was "jaded?"

I am planning on asking for a raise in my base salary and I am unsure what the market price would be for my skills at a staffing agency. I am in the top producer at my company with over 50 producers. I generate an average of $120k in GM per quarter. I am approaching my first year end review and I am currently at a base salary of $70,000 and I have 3 years of prior experience in the industry. What should I be asking for in this situation?

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!
