Not in Raleigh that’s for sure
Unfortunately the market has really made things wonky in the triangle
I’m in South Durham and fairly happy with the balance, but the affordability has taken a nosedive the last couple of years
Holly Springs might be a good place to look
Second Holly Springs. Haven’t lived there, but it’s growing rapidly and more affordable.
I’d look in to Wake Forest. Good schools there however lottery system and a bit of a gamble. A bit more affordable than Cary and Apex.
Southern Wake County. Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina
You didn’t answer my question that I posted earlier which is, do you have a sense of your budget? If your budget is not very robust, you’re going to be pretty far away from central Raleigh in small towns that ring the city; if it’s $750k, you could adjust your search to be in nicer suburban towns like Apex, Holly Springs, or Wake Forest OR some pockets of North Raleigh within city limits; and if you have $900k-$1.7mil (or more), you could be much more central within Raleigh itself. There are also older homes that are on the smaller side and might need an investment to update a bit that are much more central within Raleigh and can be more affordable – like $5-$600,000. It really depends what you’re looking for.
My son has friends who live in Wendell, and there is not much there. I could never live there myself. But a lot is going to be driven by your budget, and it is one of the towns people look at if their budget is tighter.
Do you know where you or your partner, if you have one, will be working (geographically)? That would affect what I would suggest.
Not sure what that means as far as equity. I know virtually nothing about Texas except that the electrical grid is the worst. Do you have a desired budget for a house? You can spend $2 mil here or $400k.
