I don’t understand how, as the founder you left a goal setting meeting knowing that the goals were not achievable.
Business is execution. It’s boring, but necessary.
If you set goals that you think your team can’t achieve, that’s a people or training issue. If you’re trying to stretch your people to achieve more than they think they can - that’s leadership, so long as it’s not delusional and burns the whole team out.
Sounds to me like you don’t have your processes built out and you don’t trust your team. Not good.
Don’t set unrealistic goals.
IMO, if you’re setting several goals, some should be your baseline expectation, some should be attainable with a little effort and some should be attainable with an extra effort.
Setting unachievable goals is disheartening.
Be realistic with expectations end estimations. That starts from the top. If you fail to hit goals, that starts with leadership’s fault
How do you set your goals in the beginning, when you first start out and have nothing to benchmark against?
Sometimes happens you need to have a good idea but be realistic about how many people you want to impact. You can start testing GPT and see how it does it.
