Bain & Company Is there a cool down at Bain even if you don’t make it past the resume screen? Applied a couple months ago on a whim (and a referral from a friend) having no experience with anything business/consulting related as a lateral (only had experience in research prior). Since then have had 2 months at a t2 firm plus some biz dev for a startup. I’m aiming to reapply at 6 months. For context graduated from a t10 school and thought I wanted to go to med school for a little bit lol. Bain & Company

If you like Tampa and Columbus, just wait until you visit any other city
C1, best message of the week! 🤣
-From a NYer here that actually loves Columbus.
If you want to live in Tampa, you need to get yourself checked.
Moved here just over a year ago. I haven’t looked back and said I shouldnt have made the move. We bought a house recently as well.
Overreacting.
I live in Tampa and am originally from the East coast of Florida. I would say overreacting since Tampa is tucked in more inland and have St. Pete on the west coast. Obviously hurricanes are still a threat, but more prone to for East coast and panhandle
Hurricanes seem scarier than they really are. Most infrastructure in Florida has been built to be hurricane resistant. Having lived in south East Florida, I’ve really only dealt with power outages and flooding in the streets.
3rd- and if you live in a high rise bldg they’ll have a generator anyway. Power outage is really the worst part of a hurricane in Florida and FPL has gotten better about restoring power in less than a week. I never lost power w TECO when I was living in Tampa.
FL native hear. Hurricanes are not a scary issue to us. We get about a 5+ day warning if one is heading our way. Giving us plenty of time to prepare, unlike other natural disasters (earthquakes, mudslides).
Thank you all for your responses. Surely sounds like I was overreacting 😊
Yes to add to that. It’s been really booming and especially with the super bowl (maybe?)!

I’ve lived within 50 miles of the southeast coast for 43 years. I’d much rather deal with the occasional hurricane and sweltering heat/humidity than tornadoes, extreme cold, and wildfires that the rest of the country experiences.

In comes the designated Deloitte idiot. 🤦♂️ Go to your room.
Tampa is not for me but I have family who relocated to that area and love it. I think as long as you aren’t right on the water you don’t need to worry about sea level in the immediate future (more than a couple decades is a different story).
Hurricanes are frustrating- depending on where you live (how close to water/how many stories up if I’m a condo) you may need special glass/shutters.
My family is in the Crystal River area just north of Tampa and are rarely worried about hurricanes
