Wedding planner asked us about color palettes and we truly cannot pick/commit to any colors. Did anyone have a similar problem? Any advice?

Find a piece of art that you love and pick those colors. Don’t overthink. You will kick yourself later for agonizing over the “little things.” 😊

If it works with your venue, a classic black/navy with light pink/cream/sage green never fails

We went with shades of blue and black accents as needed. Super easy color to work with and we didn’t have to stress over matching anything or vendors not being able to work with it.

I didn’t do it myself because of the amount of prep involved, but another option is to put the bridal party in neutral colors and then do mixed bouquets. You can save hundreds of dollars by getting your florals from a grocery store or Costco.

I googled common color palettes for winter weddings, then had my bridesmaids let me know which colors on the palette did/didn’t look good on them. From there, we narrowed it down to a single palette.

I’m obsessed with sunsets and googled beach sunsets shades to find our colors. We’re getting married on the beach, and it fit. What’s your theme?

Oooo this sounds so cool - Art Deco is gorgeous and Indian weddings and colors are gorgeous. You definitely need gold in your palette!

I recommend heading over to lowes or Home Depot and going to the paint section where they have all the color swatches. Choose two or three colors you like and bam! Color palette! You can also go to a store like Hobby Lobby where they have a large fake flower department and choose some flowers you like and those can serve as a color palette, and bonus now you have a direction for your florals!

Yes I am right here with you, our venue is really modern and has extremely bold decor so I’m sticking to black and white for all the decor and and lost on bridesmaid dresses. Sticking to white flowers too 🫠

like

Same, I’m going black all black and white and the bridesmaids will be in dark navy

Hey guys, so I have competing offers. One at Bank of America for 124, and one at Allspring for 110.

Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about compensation structure at Allspring, or any opinions on the culture there. I would be in Charlotte.

I have just recently accepted a position as Director of Compliance at a Fin-Tech company here in Naples, FL.. My previous 17 YOE were strictly in the Financial industry. Does anyone know what the average salary is for this position? I have a sinking feeling that I accepted the role too quickly without comparing salaries. The position only pays $50k/year. That seems low to me.

My partner and I are planning to elope. We want the wedding and the trip that will go with it to be for us. That being said, we want to throw a party of some kind to celebrate with our friends. We're pretty lost as far as the general etiquette around this goes. Do you have to tell venues it's for a "wedding" reception? Is it expected that we will still make a gift registry?

Thoughts on kindly asking your bridesmaids to please not give a gift? I am over the moon excited that my bridesmaids will be celebrating me and traveling for the wedding and bachelorette. I really do not want a gift from them at the wedding. Full disclosure, my fiancé and I have great paying jobs and my bridesmaids are grad students, artists, and teachers. How would you frame this? Even if they were millionaires I would not want a gift, but I don’t want it taken the wrong way.

Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.

Budget question! How much are you estimating spending per guest? This includes food/alcohol/venue, etc
