I should be around 57 when I retire from teaching with a full benefit.
I'm sure I'll find something else to do for another 10 years or so before I retire for real, but it will be nice to have the freedom of a steady income while I explore my options.
I love my job, but I don't intend to do it one day longer than I have to. 😉
70 sounds perfect! 🤩 It’s the new 60. 😉

I have to stay until I am 64 (that is when I will have the 30 years I need to retire at 80%. I will probably work as long as I can, but who knows what the future holds .

I'll probably die in office.
Me too.
I’ll have 30 years at 57, which gives me full benefits. I plan to retire then. 6 more years to go! I’ll graduate in 2031!
I retired at 62 with 39 years. So far, so good!

Planning to make the final walk across the stage with 38 years in 2028 at 62 if all continues to go as anticipated. Still plan to work two part time jobs in “retirement” for five more years and figured out some consulting options as well, all of which let me dictate days and hours until age 67 when I quit everything and start social security. As my job is unique and will need continuity, I hope to have my successor in place in one year to transition for two years and ease out the door. Now if I can just get everybody to follow this plan.😂
I plan on retiring in 2027 at 70
Retired last year at 59 (full retirement, bought 5 years)
They won’t know your age bc you look so young!😁
Actually I haven’t even begun to think about retirement. I technically have a little bit of savings I put into it, but I don’t have a retirement age set yet. I’ve only been teaching about five years so maybe in the next 10 to 15 years I’ll get my act together but for right now I’m just kind of winging things.
Make sure you have a financial plan this year. It could be as simple as investing 5-10 percent in an index fund. But winging it can lead to sadness when you reach retirement, or what you thought would be retirement age.
