I'm all for it and I want to do that in the future for some flexibility. Are you looking for accounting-related contracts? If so, how are you finding them?
Right? I definitely see some benefits. I'm not looking, but see them often listed on LinkedIn. I also just connected with a recruiter (focus finance/accounting) who hires for contract work. He explained some agencies offer paid holidays and health insurance for added benefit.
Contractors have marginally less security than a normie job but not by a huge amount. They can terminate contracts in line with the terms of that contract which can be before the official termination date but you can also be sacked out of a job with no explanation within the first 2 years.
The biggest risk is that they mis-sell a contract position as 18 months but really they aim to terminate in 3 months.
Money is better but career progression is halted.
Great points. Thanks!
