Hello all,
Would like to know specifically about Queer inclusion at SocGen Societe Generale. What is the attitude of mangers and HRs towards treating LGBTQ identifying candidates? Is company really inclusive or it’s just a lip service? Considering an offer with the company but being an out and proud Queer woman, super anxious and concerned.

Honestly my year, when we were staff 2, we were all senioring due to limited seniors. Atleast this way you get the title and some raise
Yeah, that’s how I feel. most of my engagements don’t have a senior, so now that we have new staff beneath me I feel I’m at least getting some “acting senior” experience
I was in a similar position to you when I was up for senior and got promoted. Definitely sensed animosity from some coworkers and felt like some people didn’t take me as seriously as a senior when the promotion became effective. Not saying you shouldn’t go for it, but just be cognizant of office politics and how it could impact your day to day
You haven’t done enough or seen enough to justify it. Very few could actually do that effectively.
Interesting, I am Bay Area. Agree it seems like seniors have been leaving all summer
Or possibly 2.5 years instead of 2...in either case you don’t get the corresponding raise until the following October so more work and responsibility for the same pay.
This is how it works at PwC for mid year promos, get a small promo raise 1/1 (i got ~7.5%) and then regular annual raise 7/1. Would be shocked if EY promoted you and didn’t give raise
I can confirm mid year promotions is a new thing that was piloted in the West and is now throughout the US. It is allowed at all levels though it should be highlighted that there still needs to be a business case for an early promote so while it is an option, and a really great one at that so people who do deserve it and are functioning at the higher level get rewarded early, I don’t envision it occurring all the time. It will be more like the exception and not the norm.
.
What? Would you be getting promoted to senior or staff? What is your current title?
I will be staff 2 in October when our ranks at EY get updated
Normal 2 *Kawhi Leonard laugh*
That is how it is at EY... just 2 yr
It is at EY most people get promo staff 2 to senior after 2 years. So this would be 1.5 years instead of 2
Are mid year promos a thing at EY - I have seen one in 8 years?
They just rolled it out
I haven’t seen any mid year promos during my 5 years at EY. Don’t think that’s a thing. Especially for Staff 2 to Senior.
Yes, it’s new.
