Can I still do a backdoor ROtH IRA for 2021?
For PwC fishes who left recently, how did you consolidate wealth builder into 401k within benefits express to avoid the 20% federal tax withholding that was described in the benefits package? I tried to do this online but it didn’t show as an option except to rollover to an existing IRA or take a final distribution. Do I need to call benefits express?

Schwab.
Vanguard and etrade
Opened Vanguard in 2006 after my first college internship which had a 401k and I rolled it over to an IRA. I only keep vanguard funds there since their UI sucks. My E*TRADE account is originally Sharebuilder (back in the day they had some of the lowest fees per trade) and it’s been through maybe 4 acquisitions at this point. I still have RH since they were the first to offer free trading and I’m cheap, but slowly liquidating out of there.

Fidelity. Its mobile UI is awful but I love the info that's quickly available once you figure it out. Learning curve for sure though.
I need to ditch RH...
I use TD but seriously this whole Robinhood disaster has shown the value of a real brokerage. Thanks for the free trades but now everyone has them.

Schwab...just pulled out of RH

I use Vanguard for my Roth IRA to buy indexes since they are the early pioneers. I got Schwab intially for a debit card with no atm fees but have liked their brokerage account. Schwab has great customer service, zero commission on individual stocks and very low expense ratios on their indexes. I recently started M1 finance and like it so far because they make keeping a balance portfolio really easy. With M1 finance, I love that you can sort of make your own basket of investments. For example, I thought hospitality REITS were currently undervalued. I wanted to invest in several REITS to diversify company specific risk and it was easy to pick a bunch of hospitality stock and allocate by percentage of contribution. If I could only recommend one brokerage, I would recommended Schwab only because it has the most intuitive interface and because Vanguard has some minimum contributions on some index funds.
