We're not stealing anyone away from MBB. That's the going rate for a top 10 MBA hire.
SC SM here. I started 7 years ago out of undergrad. We didn't have strategy analysts then (I feel old), I was in the MCDP program. At consultant I was aligned to strategy. This was before the leveling, so I was making much less than the MBA hires. When I made manager, it was a 60%+ jump in base, to even us all out. MSC1 - again you are wrong.
One thing I've noticed with post-MBAs vs promote to cons in strat is that the MBAs struggle to adjust. They cost more to staff, but don't have the in-house expertise. It is like having an analyst in some cases. My advice is to befriend and learn from the nonMBAs ... They know how the unwritten expectations work, and can get you up to speed quickly. As long as top performers are home grown, they won't make MBA a requirement. In fact, we ADDED the role of strategy analyst to help us get better talent without the premium.
In Accenture Strategy, you have a max time at level. If you don't get promoted, you're counseled out; or you can switch out to a different group if they're willing to take you.
Also salaries for non-MBA and MBA even out at manager level
@PwC1 a C2 makes $115K so the jump isn't too bad and good undergrad C's can make M in 2 years
Yes the salaries mentioned so far are only for strat. I'm in MC and we're severely underpaid compare to Strat folks (because they're trying to steal talent away from MBB by paying up) #yesimsalty
Can confirm that MSC1 is wrong, you do NOT need a masters to advance in the strategy practice, applies to new hires too
Non-mbas don't have senior strategy consultants. They're just consultant level
Out
Right - so a non MBA gets a 70k jump - almost a 70% increase?! That doesn't sound right. Is this only within strategy at acn?
M1 160, M2 170, M3 180
Jump isn't unheard of plus Analysts who go to manager without mbas are top performers and the firm tries hard to keep them
MSC1- that's completely false, I know plenty of SMs and MDs in Accenture strategy without masters who just stayed through in undergrad
You def do not need a masters and since once you make manager it doesn't matter there's little value in it beyond there. That said I started my MBA after I got promoted to manager
MSC1- you're still wrong, leadership has said multiple times that you don't need an MBA to keep advancing in the firm... not sure what your husband is telling you. The firm would rather have people stay than leave for two years and possible leave for good.
Promoted after 1 year in ASCDP? Or 2 years?
Out of MBA you're a senior strategy consultant and get promoted to manager in 18 months
Thanks! And if you're not promoted...?
See ya later
Different group as in Accenture digital, Accenture interactive, etc?
