Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Went a few years ago. There are some that are very overpriced and not worth it in my opinion. For example, Charles Krug was one of the most expensive we did, but the worst experience.
We absolutely love Burgess Cellars. We are still part of the wine club. They have a mountainside tasting that is very unique since most of Napa is very flat. Given the mountainside, their wine is a nice change from what most of Napa produces, and offers some unique flavors.
Also, if I were you, I would consider a day in Napa and a day in Sonoma. Not far from one another, but a vastly different experience and will give you a great variety!
Frogs Leap and Mumm!
Third for Mumm!!
Las Alcobas is a beautiful hotel - you guys are going to love it!
I’m not sure I’m qualified to offer recommendations but we loved our tour of Quintessa - the guide was super knowledgeable and friendly despite us not knowing anything, we saw every step of the process and got to taste grapes off the vine, and of course the wine was stellar ... but wow those bottles were expensive.
If you’re looking for more of a well-oiled machine that feels more like a White House tour than a bespoke visit, Nickel & Nickel is a great option.
Personally, I was a bit disappointed by Hall...wine didn’t do it for me and there are prettier spots out there.
Just make sure you get to Oakville Grocery for a sandwich before you leave!
I used to live in Napa, and loved visiting V. Sattui. It was a small, beautiful winery perfect for sitting outside on a fall day and relaxing.
If you enjoy Chardonnay, don’t skip out on Rombauer. It’s so smooth!
You could spend the full time just in St Helena with the abundance of wineries there, but if you make it outside of St Helena, grab a bottle of Mi Sueno Cabernet. It’s an unfiltered cab, and I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love it! It’s not a winery I would go to and sit all day to enjoy wine, more of a small, family-owned winery with an impeccable Cab you have to try!
You’ll have so much fun, enjoy it! I hope the fires are down by then.
Also highly recommend V. Sattui
Hall wines
Fam great recommendations. For Napa we locked in with V. Sattui and Mummm. Also Benzinga in Sonoma. Now fingers crossed the hotel actually reopens... It's not open yet and our stay is in early October.
Beringer yes (you might be able to book ahead for a private tour, totally worth it if still offered), Sterling no (embarrassing Disney-does-mass-market-‘wine experience’)
I love this post 😍 keep it coming folks!
also faila is a small cozy place for a tasting and good wine
Castello di Amorosa while beautiful from the outside is a trap and wayyy crowded. Not worth it
I personally love the cave tours. I’d recommend Rutherford Hill Winery
100% on Mumm and Frog’s Leap. Peju. Whitehall Lane. Clos du Val. Pride.
And Ridge in Sonoma. Worth the extra drive.
What type of experience are you looking for? Intimate, small tour? Slick production? Do you like mountain cab or valley cab?
Intimate:
Matthiason Vineyards
Smith Madrone 😍
Hamel family wines (Sonoma)
Cade
Slicker Production:
Artesa
Domaine carneros (champagne)
Caymus (didn’t like the wine here but nice spot)
Great spots for wine, more low key tastings:
Ashes and Diamonds
Peju
Laurel Glen (Sonoma)
Peju! I forgot about them.
Nichelini Family Winery probably was the best bang for buck place I went in Napa. Very unpretentious. Incredible wines. Seating area. They allow you to bring food in. I bought their Roman Press White, a few Zinfandels, and a Primativo.
Thanks for all the insights. The wife and I will dissect and discuss on a date this evening. Thank you!
Madrigal! Great Spanish winery, small, underrated.
Major fires 🔥 in Napa area double check what will be back open before you go.
Was just in Napa last week! The Napa/Sonoma/st Helena area wasn’t affected by the fires when we were there and air quality was fine/wasn’t smoky. Things do change quickly though.
