Renegotiate title every year? You’d run out of titles pretty quickly, no? “Empress of Copy?"

I stopped doing that after achieving the rank of Lexiconquistador General.
Salary bump, signing bonus, extra vacation time, technology i want (computers, home laptop/monitor), bank of funds for conference attendance/training. Never asked for all at once but have asked for each of these things (always with salary increase) and gotten them. Admittedly been 6 years since I last switched jobs, but hope it helps.

But to elaborate more on your original question: the most important thing is salary. You’ll never accumulate wealth by relying on raises of 5% or bonuses. You want to get your pay as high as you can

I think that isn’t the best way to do it. Instead, when negotiating your salary ask for consideration for a raise, title bump in 6 months/1 year as a sort of rider to the offer. When
