What books have helped you navigate through a mostly older white male work environment ?

These are phenomenal books that I highly recommend.

Leadership Presence "...Will enable you to develop the skills necessary to inspire confidence, command respect, build credibility, and motivate others..."

Writing that Works "...will help you say what you need to say, with less difficulty and more confidence..."

Confidence is the key to navigating through a world of those unapproachable and stuck in their ways individuals. Communication skills such as "Saying more with less" and practicing techniques around your leadership presence go so far. It takes practice and constant conscientious self correction to stand out in any role in any industry.

Aww, bummed to see this is a dead bowl. Anyone still around?? Getting ready for our first internal off-site and I haven't seen the rest of my team in person for almost 3 years now. I'm more nervous about the new folks that I have only met via Teams, including my 1st-ever direct report. I have been working at midnight, on Sunday mornings but I am human, I make mistakes, she just blames me instead of teaching.

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence
