Your secret $-$$ diner in LA County?
I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

What happened to dropping names?
$400K and notoriously cheap/blackbox when it comes to bonuses. Not going to name names, but I think some will probably guess.
A4, it's about $10K more than seniors on base, but may be less all-in once you factor in bonus.

$25k more than 8th years.
$50k more salary, same bonus as 8th year associate.

It was $15k more than senior associates when I was raised, which is substantially less than senior associates make now. I assume it adjusted up with associate salaries.
When I lateraled to my current firm I made $500k as counsel in my first year. Was already counsel

Most of the top firms will negotiate that for lateral counsel. Think top M&A / finance shops. Both sides. Usually that’s with a promise of a short look to partner, so it’s not for newly-minted counsel, but for those with 2+ years as counsel.
Think of it this way—firms are cheap AF. So if they promote you to counsel, they’ll just pay you slightly above SA. But as you get good, up to NEP level good, then firms will fight to recruit you as counsel because they’re getting an NEP-level talent in the form of a counsel for cheap.
They get to bill you out at partner rates, but never have to worry about offering you equity or keep you happy climbing that NEP ladder. Counsel like that print money for the partnership.
