Grieve and mourn and try to pick up the pieces as best you can. In our team chat, when an account is deactivated, it turns to black and white, and it really does feel like a loss! On a serious note, it’s a readjustment when a work bestie moves on, and that’s ok.
I feel this. It’s definitely a loss, but I’m holding onto the hope that someone even better might come along. At the same time, that thought makes me feel guilty, because they truly were irreplaceable.
see if there is a role on their new team haha
I felt it hard when my favorite coworker left, since they were my go-to for everything. I’m trying to step up, ask more questions, and fill the gap, but I still miss them, because it’s not the same without that daily support.
This is exactly what I'm feeling. They are leaving next week and I'm just now realizing how much easier they made my job:(

Throw them a party! Who ever shows up is probably like minded and could be your next work best friend
Learn how to do your job on your own? Don’t follow them, they left for a reason.
I do my job on my own, but when your work overlaps with a coworker, it feels like a big loss when you’ve been helping each other.
The feel of a job can completely change when a good coworker leaves. There can be a period of readjustment for sure, but you might build stronger connections with other coworkers.
Aweeee, that's sooo cute. Too bad you couldn't go 2.
Maybe you should send them a welcome gift to their new job,or venture!! 😄 Express their absence will be noticed.
Send some life savers (definitely a sharable bag)
or whatever you 🤔🧐 they would like.
Is this something you would like for an ex-colleague to do for you? Wouldn't this just make you feel better?
or, are you afraid that they would want to cut ties now; that you no longer share the same workspace.
That is so good. It is hard anymore to find valuable connections with people. I appreciate the update.

Go with them!!!! I’ve done it more than once.
That’s rough! In the past, if I don’t like how I feel after I lose my favorite employee I try to find a new job and start fresh. I don’t know if this is the best answer but it’s what I’ve done.
