What do you think makes a good interviewer? I just got off with someone and it was a painful 30 minutes - she answered my questions in 1 sentence max. Didn’t have any back and forth, it was just her running through a list of questions.

So curious how others see a strong interviewer and what qualities they have!

Omg I've have this too! Some interviewers really do feel so robotic just reading off questions and barely giving you any feedback when you answer. It doesn't bring out the best in an interviewee so I have no idea why they do this

like

Yes! I don’t need us to be overly friendly, but at least be a human and not a robot.

I love when an interviewer will expand on something I say and relate it to the company or the role in question. Shows they want to describe the job to you and not just ask the questions to check off boxes.

like

Agreed! It’s such a nicer flow too from a purely conversational level. Also our industry is small, so regardless of the role, our paths will likely cross again. So odd

Damn, was that her first doing an interview? It sounds like she was either extremely nervous or she wasn’t interested in the interview at all.

Right? That was my take too. Which totally fine if not interested, but cancel it at that point
