Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

Any insight into STB’s tax group?
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. Depends what you are looking for. If $ is #1, then big law is obvious choice. If WLB is a consideration, consider mid law. That's where I am and happy with it overall (doing tax). Feel free to PM me to chat offline.
This depends on your motivation for attending law school and goals. Why did you go? What group are you in now and do you enjoy it? If you can get into big law, I would recommend thar you consider it. It will open up doors that might otherwise be closed to someone who stayed in big4 their entire career (especially if spending most of your time on compliance and provision). I’m stating the obvious here but there’s a huge big law alumni population in WNT, DOJ, Treasury, IRS counsel etc. big law experience will give you flexibility going forward.
Do you have the grades for biglaw? If not, Big 4 is probably the best opportunity.
Really depends on where you see yourself. You can stay in Big4 but you will miss out on a lot of traditional legal experience. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing just something to keep in mind. Have you checked out the honors program at the DOJ tax division? I am not sure if they are currently hiring but with your background this might be a good fit
