Coming in as manager at 225k base. I'm sure you can touch 240k

like

Bonus %?

like

Base starts at ~190k. Ends somewhere at 280 - 300k, but that's rare. 240k base should be possible. Bonus will be shit though - probably less than 10%.

Both my Directors at KPMG are at close to 300k base, so yes base can definitely touch 240k

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good? I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?
