What is comp like in Minneapolis firms? Do some pay significantly better than others, or are they all the same? Spouse’s family in MN so considering a move, but I make DPW scale currently (am a litigation associate) and the salary estimate I got from a firm in MN would be 40% less than what I currently make! Cost of living and hours requirement slightly lower in MN, but nowhere near 40%! Are there any options that would not result in a drastic pay cut?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I had added all comments during the day from everyone else, and the midlevel and senior were online as well, but it seemed very strange to ask me to stay up just to add three sentences to a purchase agreement.
