Can you negotiate higher pay (either at a new job or for a raise) based on your academic pedigree? If so, how can you do this without sounding elitist? Meaning, if an employer possibly picked you as an Ivy League/Top 20 Public flagship university degree holder, how do you acknowledge this in salary negotiations? Especially asking because these people often have more loans compared to someone with an online degree for example.
Hello fishes. I'm an MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience. I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA. Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA? Thank you
I’m a PTA working in Home Health. I live in the New Orleans, LA area. I’m curious to see if my wage is average or if I should negotiate with my employer. I have over 10 years experience and get PPV. Every visit I am paid $40 and my salary has been around $60k per year for the past 3 years. Also, is it common to get a yearly raise in the Home health industry? Any insight would be appreciated.
Hallo 🐠 got a promotion and transfer opportunity to move to Amsterdam from the US (I’m in the industry). Looking for inputs on best neighborhoods to rent a place! I’m moving with my fiancé and we are in our late 20s
Anyone who has/ heard of fbookers who successfully switched roles and gotten a promotion (L3 to L4)? Context I am planning a switch from analyst to data scientist from a non US location to US. However, L4 is needed for this jump (prob due to visa issues). With the current revamp in PSC cycle, I am not sure if I can successfully get promoted by next year and make the jump. To do so, I heard there needs to be 2 EE (for this half and next half). YOE 5, BASE 100K
I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year. My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?
Been a customer success manager at a tech org for about a year and was just given a promotion that’s $21k lower than what we’re hiring new folks (albeit with 2 years of experience) for. Looking for resources for the market value of a CSM with one year of experience and any tips to negotiate? Definitely feeling defeated.
Our CSM department is going through a major restructure right now. There has been a huge amount of turn over since the beginning of the year. Our managers have not given us any insight to what the new restructure will look like, they have also pushed out our annual raise conversations until the end of April. A lot of CSMs are leaving the company and it has me thinking maybe I should entertain other opportunities elsewhere as well. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
Hello SC team! I’m currently a Transportation Planner/regional distribution coordinator my salary is currently 73k, I’m in the mist of getting a promotion to become a transportation specialist. This would mean I’m going from a level 1 to a level 2 job. How much of a raise should I expect from that move?
I'm a new adjuster but have great metrics and feel I'm doing fairly well. My family is struggling living paycheck to paycheck. I've been with my company about 7 months but I feel other companies pay more. I don't want to leave though. Any tips for asking for a salary increase? I was promoted a few months in to a tier 2 but no pay raise goes with that. Thanks for any advice.. I'm at 47k a year. I wanted to go SIU but obviously there is no immediate significant pay bump. Ultimately aiming for 60k
Has anyone added meditation practices to their elementary classroom? I recently saw the the app Calm was doing a promotion where they let teachers join for free. Does anyone recommend?

I’m the Affiliate Chair for for the DC Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and looking for a few volunteers for leadership roles helping the affiliate grow and raise awareness about pancreatic cancer. Message me if you’d like to get involved!
An opportunity has risen that I will be getting a promotion from Manager to Director. I am a senior employee and historically have gotten anywhere from 5.5% - 10% raises in the past. What would be an appropriate promotion to director percentage raise? I am happy where I work and don’t want to go anywhere, but also want to be respected in a role with more responsibilities.
I'm new to EY and consulting in general. Does anyone know what is the average salary hike for promotion from Senior to Manager and for Seniors in non-promotion year?
Was approved for an apartment that was originally listed as no-fee, but just heard from the broker the building isn’t paying the broker’s fee so we would have to pay it. It is one month’s rent but they are saying we can pay just 1/3 of it due to the miscommunication. Thoughts? Is this a scam? Is there room to negotiate?

Hello sharks, Joined in Nov'21 in Tech consulting - am I eligible for progression from Senior 1 to 2 in the upcoming appraisal cycle? Should I push my counselor for it? Also, what would be the expected hike and bonus for worst case default rating?
I am potentially able to get in front of 4-5 of the “right people” to potentially take over some 401k plans. I have never ventured into this area. Any suggestions on where to start for...continued

For anyone that completed their Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) certification. How did you prep for the exam? What resources helped you? What steps did you take to complete it? How was the exam? I’m planning on getting mine this month. I’m a bit confused after reading the guide/handbook yesterday.
Left the firm recently. Should I roll over my 401k into my new employer's 401k, roll over or to Roth, or leave as-is? DT is Vanguard, new one is Fidelity, if that matters at all.
