What is the best time of year to switch jobs? Wondering if the fall is a good time / if I should expect to see more job postings and potentially flex with negotiations then

I don't think anytime is really great this year. The job market just kind of sucks overall. But if you were to switch, I think now would probably be the best time. I hear a lot of people are going to start hiring soon. At least, that's what I'm telling myself, lol.

Depends on the level of- senior roles surprisingly Q4 is good. Junior/Mid level roles probably mid Q1/Q2.

Whenever you get an offer. Typically not done until after the forst of the year after Oct based on what I've seen. However, exceptions exists. I got my current job last dec.

It really depends on the type of role you are seeking and the reason for wanting to switch jobs. You do not want to end up in the same situation at a different company. I do not think there is necessarily a better time of year, but there can be better opportunities depending on timing. Since it is late in the year, make sure they at least match your annual bonus from your current company, if not exceed it with a sign-on bonus. I’m currently looking around and just seeing what other roles/pay/benefits are out there.

Hi, Can someone please connect me to the recruiter/HR?
There is a Test Engineer (Automation) opening in Google which I see on LinkedIn. It seems relevant. Applied a few times already but I don't think submitting resume is helping here.
Also, I hear HR at Google helps candidate prepare for the interview as well.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA 😊

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.
